Workshop objective:
Helping parents acquire practical skills in dealing with sibling rivalry and conflicts, especially when a new child arrives in the family. The workshop aims to support parents in building an environment in which children learn to manage emotions and resolve conflicts safely.

1. Introduction and warm-up
2. Arrival of a new sibling – how to prepare an older child
Helping parents prepare an older child for the arrival of a new sibling, to reduce feelings of uncertainty or jealousy.
3. Understanding sibling rivalry – why it arises and how it differs depending on age
Explaining to parents where sibling rivalry comes from and how it changes with the age of the children.
4. Age-appropriate conflict resolution strategies
Equipping parents with age-appropriate conflict resolution techniques that promote self-regulation.
5. Responding to conflict situations
Showing parents how to respond neutrally and supportively to conflict situations between children.
6. Building a positive relationship between siblings for the future
Showing strategies that help children build a strong and supportive relationship.
7. Question and reflection session
Allowing parents to reflect on acquired skills and ask questions.
